John Schmidt
Biography
The greatest American straight pool player of the past 25 years, John Schmidt made history in 2019 by breaking Willie Mosconi’s 60-year-old high-run record of 526 balls when he ran 626 in Monterey, Calif. Competitively, Schmidt’s career highlights are winning the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship in 2006, the Derby City One-Pocket title in 2009 and the World Tournament of 14.1 in 2012. Schmidt appeared for Team USA in two Mosconi Cups, 2006 and 2014. Major Titles
