Korean Champion Yu Ram Cha had been making a habit lately of terrorizing regional tour stops in the Florida Area. It looks like she could be ready to continue that habit this week at the WPBA Great Lakes Classic.
Cha opened her tournament with a win over Austria's Jasmin Ouschan. The win earns Cha a match against Sarah Rousey in round two and send Ouschan to the one loss side to face Michelle Monk.
Defending champion Xiao-Ting Pan had her hands full earlier as she fought off Line Kjoersvik in round one. The match was tied 7-7 until Pan came out ahead in a safety battle and won the next two games.
Another round one upset saw Tina Larsen from Illinois score a 9-6 win over Val Finnie.
Anna Kostanian won her first match over Megan Minerich 9-3 and then went on to defeat Ewa Laurance 9-5 in round two.
