Xiao-Fang Fu of China is the new Women's World 9-Ball Champion. She came into competition today only two wins away from that title and was more than up to the challenge. She took down last year's champion, Sha Sha Liu, 9-6 while Allison Fisher was gaining her entry into the final match by surviving a back and forth match with Shu-Han Chang that Fisher only won after going hill-hill. We have no reports as yet on the details of these matches but do know a little about the final match between Fu and Fisher.
These two were matching one another stride for stride through most of their match. Then the 9 ball got into a cuss fight with Fisher. At 7-7 she scratched on the 9 ball to gift the hill to FU. She got control of the table again in the next rack only to get all the way down to the 9 ball again and miss the shot that would have tied the match. Instead, Fu succeeded on the 9 ball shot to win the title 9-7.
We will report the results of the match for third place when those results come in to us.
