On day six, the World Ten Ball Championship is now down to the final four players.
Former World 9-Ball Champion Chia-Ching Wu is looking very strong after his lopsided win over American Shane Van Boening on Friday and his 9-7 elimination of Mika Immonen early on Saturday.
Wu will face this years cinderella story, Demosthenes Pulpul. Pulpul, a member of the newly formed Magi stable here in Manila, is the final Filipino player in the field and he is enjoying every minute of the home crowd's adulation. After his hill-hill win over Ching-Shun Yang on Friday, Pulpul eliminated China's Haitao Liu early Saturday.
The Wu/Pulpul match will be the first of the semi-final matches on Saturday, but the next match looks to be just as exciting.
Reigning World Straight Pool Champion Niels Feijen has looked relatively untested all week. Marlon Manalo and Nick Van Den Berg were the latest to fall to Niels and he hopes to continue that run against England's Darren Appleton.
Appleton has looked stronger than ever before this week and eliminated Satoshi Kawabata and Charlie Williams in his last two matches.
The winners of these two semi-final matches will face each other on Sunday for the first prize of $100,000.
