The Board of Directors of the Women's Professional Billiard Association
(WPBA) is currently entertaining proposals for the management of the
most established professional cue-sports player organization in the United
States.
The WPBA is a Players' organization established in 1976. Starting in
2008, the organizations bylaws will allow non-player board members to
occupy the majority of the seven seats. This change will provide better
support of business initiatives for the association's next contract
management.
ESPN has been a partner over the last ten years, receiving 25 original
hours of programming and over 100 hours of repeat on ESPN Classic.
There are currently seven televised tournaments annually and the
average ratings have improved from a .37 in 2006 to a .46 in 2007 with
our new Tulsa based production company, Winnercomm.
The vast majority of all WPBA tournament site locations have been in
casinos of second or third tier markets. The Board is open to different
venues, as well as tournaments without ESPN. The current average purse
size is $90,000 and the typical tournament hosts 64 players.
We welcome a proposal for either or both management areas. The Board
is open to the review of proposals that include partnership concepts that
include capital investments. Should your proposal interest the Board, you
will be contacted for an interview and further dialogue.
