Skyler Woodward and Billy Thorpe will team up to represent the USA at the 2021 World Cup of Pool, but they will be on opposite sounds of the table this weekend as they face off against each other in the “Freedom Flapper King” challenge match.
Taking place at the Orioles Nest 147 in Newmanstown, Pennsylvania, this match will be a race to 60, 9-ball, over two days of play.
Woodward is coming off his big win over Dennis Orcollo on the 7’ table, but this match will be on the same 9’ Rasson table that both Woodward and Thorpe competed on at the 2019 Mosconi Cup.
The event is being put together by LBS Championship Pool and will be available to view online via PPV streaming at https://www.facebook.com/events/1636946396510806 for just $3.99 per day.
LBS’s Duane Zimmerman talked about the upcoming match, “Billy & Sky first met at a juniors tournament in Arizona, and here they are competing to see who the better player is. They constantly heckle each other about who needs to give weight to who. They will find out this weekend”.
