The sixty four player field at the Women's World 9-Ball Championship has now been trimmed to just sixteen players who still have a chance of hoisting the trophy at week's end.
Last year's runner-up Karen Corr, will not be that player as she was eliminated in the group stages along with Jasmin Ouschan, Gerda Hofstatter and Akimi Kajitani to name just a few.
The first round of play in the single elimination stage is now complete and another sixteen players were sent to the bleachers including Vivian Villarreal, Julie Kelly, Sarah Rousey and Rubilen Amit.
Americans Monica Webb and Angel Paglia are still alive but have big obstacles waiting for them tomorrow in the form of Shu-Han Chang and Allison Fisher respectively.
Other top seeds who still have hopes of winning this title include defending champion Sha Sha Liu (who doesn't appear to have even been tested in this event so far), Kelly Fisher, Ga Young Kim, Chieh Yu Chouh, Shin Mei Liu and Brittany Bryant.
