The WPA has agreed to rescind its decision to penalise players who partake in the upcoming “Women’s International Pool Championship”. The WPA has received written assurance from Dragon Promotions that this event will be campaigned as a new event and carries no history. No references will be made about it being played before or that in any way that it is a continuation of a world championship. The event is not sanctioned by the WPA, nor does it carry WPA ranking points.
The WPA Board considered the matter, and agreed that Dragon Promotions had met the requests made of them, first by changing the name of the event, and then to cease from campaigning the event as one having a history and references to it being a world championship. It has never been a policy of the WPA to stop players from participating in events, rather to the contrary.
