The Florida Men's Pro Tour was back in action this weekend at Capone's Billiards for the Daytona Pro Open. The tournament drew a field of 32 players competing for the $5000 in added prize money.
Korean Champion Young Hwa Jeong took the hot-seat with a 9-8 win over friend Charlie Williams. Williams took the trip to the B-Side of the bracket where he defeated Ben Conway 9-5 to set up the rematch with Jeong in the finals.
All of the previous Florida Men's Pro Tour events saw the player from the one-loss side come back and win the event in the finals, and this event was no different as Williams defeated Jeong 13-9 in the finals.
Williams pocketed $2500 for first, while Jeong settled for $1500 for second place. Conway and Florida room owner CM Lee filled out the top four spots.
The Florida Men's Pro Tour will be back at Capone's on October 31st - November 2nd for the Florida State Championship. This event will be a $10,000 added event with a players meeting on Friday at 3:00 PM. For more information on competing in this event, contact John Ditoro at 305-389-7434.
