The twenty-second stop of the 2007/2008 Pechauer All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted at Q's Sports Bar and Girl in Port Charlotte, Florida, on Saturday, December 8 – the “Q's 2007 Last Call 8-Ball”. Seventeen players from throughout southern Florida competed for the $500 added tournament.
Wayne Agnew (Venice, FL) flew undefeated through the A-side bracket, outpointing Justin Sewards (North Port, FL) 4-3 and Shawn Collie (Port Charlotte, FL) 4-3 in the semis and finals respectively. In the B-side bracket Graham Hawkins (Clearwater, FL) went on a tear by eliminating Scott Conley (Punta Gorda, FL) at 5th place, while host Ken Coulter (North Port, FL) did the same on the hill to Justin Sewards (North Port, FL). Hawkins then turned out Coulter at 4th place 4-2 and Shawn Collie at 3rd place 4-1 to get a title shot at Wayne Agnew. Graham Hawkins was almost up to the task, as he whitewashed Agnew in the first set 4-0, but was worn down in the deciding set by Agnew 3-4, so that Wayne Agnew captured the laurels.
By virtue of Graham Hawkins being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-ball singles entry into the 2008 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors J. Pechauer Custom Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric and Nick Varner Signature Cases for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Pechauer All American Tour. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the 2007/2008 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.
The Tour winds down before the holidays on Saturday, December 15, with a $500 added 8-ball event at Billiards on Main in Galesburg, IL (contact Mark Hammerl at 309-342-7665).
