Twenty-two players joined up at the Shark Club in Waterford, Michigan on June 11, 2005 for the 7th Fury Midwest Amateur 9-Ball tour stop. Making a comeback from the B-side was points-leader Casey Ward running through the field to score his second Midwest win.
In the second round, Ward drew Mark Ritter and Ritter took the match 7-6 and went on undefeated to reach the hot seat match. Ritter met Craig McPartlin to play for king of the hill. Ritter took charge from the start, beginning with a 2-0 lead which he built to 5-1. McPartlin was able to score two more games but Ritter continued his quest and won 7-3, putting McPartlin on the B-side to wait for an opponent in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Casey Ward was making a return with five consecutive wins including a 5-2 win over 4th-ranked Ted Reeves. Reeves took 4th place while Ward went on to face McPartlin in the semis. Things started off in Ward's favor as he jumped to a commanding 4-0 lead in the race to five. McPartlin made a stand and took the next three games but it wasn't enough to keep Ward down and Ward took the match 5-3 to move into the finals.
The rematch finals between Ward and Ritter began with the players trading the first racks until things were tied at 2-2. This is where Ward took flight, scoring the next four games to lead 6-2. Ritter brought in one more game at 6-3 but Ward was unstoppable and went on to finish 9-3 for his second Fury Midwest win.
