Day five at the enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championship is complete and our TV matches are now set.
The ladies division will see the television debut of 20 year old Austrian sensation Jasmin Ouschan as she takes on #9 ranked Helena Thornfeldt. Ouschan scored wins over Ga-Young Kim and Alice Rim before being sent to the one loss side by Melissa Herndon. It was on the one loss side that Ouschan really started putting on a show. A hill-hill win over Dawn Hopkins was followed by a 9-7 win over Karen Corr. After that match, Ouschan defeated Kelly Fisher, Pamela Treadway, Gerda Hofstatter and Shin-Mei Liu by a combined score of 36-11. The win over Liu appeared to be an especially pleasing victory for Ouschan. It was Liu that eliminated Jasmin from this year's World Championships. The winner of the match between Thornfeldt and Ouschan will face defending champion Allison Fisher in the finals on Saturday.
In the men's division, Efren Reyes will take on Ralf Souquet in a rematch of their meeting late Thursday. Souquet won that match 11-9 but Reyes bounced back with wins over Jose Parica and Charlie Williams to earn his place in the TV rounds. The winner of that match will face last year's runner up Johnny Archer in the finals.
Complete brackets for both events are posted and will be updated all week.
