Day six is complete at the enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championship and we now have our final two competitors in each division.
The men's division will see Ralf Souquet take on Johnny Archer in the finals. Souquet won a grueling hill-hill match against Efren Reyes on Friday to earn his spot in the finals. The match between Souquet and Reyes saw neither player able to capitalize on their break early and the first seven racks were won by the player who was not breaking. Souquet finally pulled ahead 5-3, but Reyes pulled back even at 6-6. Reyes had the break in the final game but left a combo on the one ball after the break. The combo didn't look tough, but Efren missed it anyway and Ralf went on to run the final rack for the victory.
The ladies division finals will be between defending champion Allison Fisher and Austrian sensation Jasmin Ouchan. Ouschan won a hill-hill match with Helena Thornfeldt that turned sloppy as Thornfeldt seemed unable to get started and Ouschan taking an early 4-0 lead. As Thornfeldt finally got her game going, it was Ouschan who seemed unable to finish off the match and Thornfeldt came back to tie the match at 6-6. The final game was Ouschan's break and she made three balls on the break and ran the final rack to book her spot in the finals Saturday against Fisher.
Complete brackets for both events are posted and will be updated all week.
