Shane Van Boening will face Dennis Orcollo in Saturday in the finals of the enjoypool.com 9-Ball Championship men's division.
Van Boening faced Mike Davis on Friday evening in the first television match of the event.
Van Boening won the opening lag but fell behind 3-0 to Davis early.
Then the pool gods turned their back on Davis. Davis had a total of five scratches in the next seven games and watched Van Boening race out to a 6-4 lead.
The jitters got to Van Boening a little and Davis was able to get back to 6-6 but there was nothing Davis could do as he was forced to sit and watch Van Boening break and run the final rack for the 7-6 win.
Up next is Allison Fisher vs Jasmin Ouschan with the winner earning a place tomorrow against Karen Corr in the finals.
