So far, the 2011 Mosconi Cup has seen an awful lot of different stories at the table. The fans have seen comebacks from edge of defeat as well as lopsided matches at the hands of cues from both sides.
The match between Shane Van Boening and Nick van den Berg saw van den Berg come back from a steep 5-2 deficit, only to tie the score at 5-5 with him breaking for win to put Team Europe on the hill in the overall scoreline.
Then van den Berg was forced to look on in horror as nothing found a pocket on his break and he was forced to sit as Van Boening approached a wide open table.
Van Boening navigating the rack, but not without a scare as he lost his cue ball and almost scratched mid run. The cue ball stopped rolling in the jaws of the pocket and Van Boening regained his composure to run out the deciding rack for a 6-5 win and an overall 9-5 score.
Next up is the last match of the day with rookies Mike Dechaine and Chris Melling going at it.
