BJ Ussery came back from a brief stay on the one loss side to win the The Johnson City Open which was held by the SE Open 9-Ball Tour at Numan's Billiards in Johnson City, TN.
Ussery remained undefeated until the match for the hot-seat, where he lost 9-3 to Mike Adams.
It looked like the end for Ussery midway through the next match as Tommy Kennedy quickly took a 6-2 lead, but Ussery dug down and came back to earn a hill-hill victory over Kennedy and a rematch with Adams in the finals.
While the first match between Adams and Ussery was 'all Adams', the rematch was a completely different affair. This match was close all the way, until Ussery took control at 7-7 and won the last four games for an 11-7 victory.
Ussery earned $685 in prize money, while Adams settled for $500. Kennedy and Wayne Livesay filled out the top four spots. Derek Gouge was the top junior finisher and Buffy Jolie the top female finisher. Each won $50 in bonus prize money.
The SE Open 9-Ball Tour will be at Mr. Cues II in Atlanta, GA on April 16th-17th for their $3400 added season finale.
