Day three at the 33rd Annual US Open 9-Ball Championship is complete and the big story of the evening rounds was Nick Varner's come from behind win over Rodolfo Luat. Varner trailed Luat 8-5, but brought the house to it's feet with an 11-10 victory.
Johnny Archer advanced into round four with a hard fought 11-9 victory over Max Eberle, and last year's 2nd place finisher was taken to hill-hill by Arizona's Mitch Ellerman before he ran the final rack for the win.
Warren Kiamco looked to be running away with his match against Josh Lewis. Kiamco led the match 6-1, but Lewis quickly came back and won the match 11-9.
The final round of the night saw the eliminations of two former champions as Tommy Kennedy lost to Tariq Almulla 11-8 and a visibly frustrated CJ Wiley lost a hill-hill thriller to Jeremy Jones.
