ESPN2 will televise several matches from the 2004 U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship this November, highlighted by four one-hour programs featuring qualifying and the championship rounds. This year's 29th annual U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship was held Sept. 6-12 at the Chesapeake Conference Center in Chesapeake, Va.
The preliminary round matches will include Efren Reyes vs. Corey Deuel, Mika Immonen vs. Corey Deuel and Earl Strickland vs. Rodney Morris, while the Championship will feature American Gabe Owen against German National Champion Thorsten Hohmann.
A total of 15 U.S. Open matches were taped and produced by Billiard Club network for domestic and international distribution. The sponsors that made the event possible included Cuetec Cues, TheSpiderOnline.com, The BCA Pool League, Scorpio Cues and Quick-Clean Pool Table Cleaner. The U.S. Open last aired on ESPN in 1994.
