Three days of play are complete at the Turning Stone Classic XXVI, and the field is now down to just eight players who still have hopes of adding this title to their resume.
On the winner's side, three time Turning Stone Classic winner Jayson Shaw will face multi time everything winner, Earl Strickland. While Shaw still has not appeared to be tested in this event, Strickland had a tough hill-hill match on Saturday night with Mike Dechaine. The other winner's side match will see Karen Corr taking on Donny Mills. Corr earned a hill-hill win over Russian sensation Maksim Dudanets on Saturday night with a 9-ball break. Dudanets had appeared to be in control of the match early, but Corr mounted a comeback and ended up winning the match. Mills has not done anything flashy in three days of play. He has grinded his way through opponent after opponent, and will face Corr for the right to play for the hot-seat.
On the one loss side, veteran player Ernesto Dominguez will take on Dudanets. Dudanets has looked nearly unstoppable all week, but will certainly have his hands full with Dominguez. The other one loss side match will see the last Canadian in the field, Danny Hewitt, playing Mike Dechaine. Having a regular tour to play in has appeared to hone Hewitt's game, but Dechaine is a danger to win any tournament whether he is on the right or left side of the board.
