Canadian Joey Cicero did what most fans at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino didn't think could be done. He rode a soft, controlled break to a 9-5 upset win over Jayson Shaw. Their match on Saturday night looked like a typical Shaw match early on, with Shaw grabbing an early lead. When Cicero got to the table though, he took control and didn't release control for the rest of the match. Cicero faces Zion Zvi in one quarter final match Sunday morning, while Besar Spahiu faces Billy Thorpe in the other. On the one loss side, Shaw takes on Danny Hewitt and Dennis Hatch plays Mika Immonen.
The tournament will crown a winner today, with the finals scheduled for 7pm EST.
