The 27 participants in the $500 added event for The Fury Tidewater Amateur 9-Ball Tour proved to be a success for Tommy Cook, who took 1st place at Pastime in Greenville, N.C. on July 31- August 1.
Tommy Cook fought his way through the bracket to meet with Mack Harrell for the Hot Seat. Tommy had control of the table and continued his climb to victory by sending Mack to the one loss side in a 7-3 victory.
While Frank Owens was working his way through the losers bracket he put Steven Page in 4th place with a 5-2 score. Frank met up with Mack playing for 3rd place and left him there with another 5-2 victory.
Tommy was in stroke through out the tournament as he went undefeated on the winners side. For the final match he was face to face with Frank Owens who had been fighting his way through the losers bracket. Tommy took the lead with 5-1 then Frank was able to gain 2 more games in this race to 9 match. Tommy's play was consistent and Frank was only able to get one more game from Tommy before the final score of 9-4.
Pastime is located in Greenville, N.C. and owned by Wendy Teaden. We would like to thank Wendy and her staff for showing our tournament stop a good time with a pig cook out for the patrons. Pastime has 10-9' Brunswick tables, 2-9' Diamond tables and 2 Bar Tables. All players and spectators had a good time and are looking forward to the next stop on November 13-14, 2004.
