The thirty-first stop of the 2006/2007 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted by owner Ron Dobosenski at The Blue Chalk Club, in Middleton, Wisconsin, on April 14, and featured a $1,000 added purse with seventeen players. The event included a double-elimination 8-ball format on Gabriel 7-footers, and Ron Dobosenski (Madison, WI) ran undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Dobosenski out maneuvered Tom Cox (Madison, WI) 5-1. Earlier in the A-bracket semi-finals, Dobosenski had outplayed Pat Hall (Madison, WI) 5-1, while Cox dominated Jim Fitzpatrick (Madison, WI) 5-2. In the B-side semifinals, Tom McCloskey (Des Plaines, IL) took out Tom Oman (Richland Center, WI) 5-4; and in the B-side finals McCloskey gained more momentum by eliminating Tom Cox 5-3. McCloskey had to defeat Ron Dobosenski two sets for the title, and Tom succeeded by the slimmest of margins to take the title over Dobosenski 5-3, 5-4!
By virtue of second-place Ron Dobosenski being the highest-finishing ACS member, he qualified for a free singles entry into the 2007 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors McDermott Handcrafted Cues, Silver Cup Chalk, Billiard Wholesalers and Pro Series Cases for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the McDermott All American Tour.
