Day four of the 2007 World Pool Championship started with a surprise as the table light over table five caught fire as soon as it was turned on. Tournament staff rushed to put out the fire, but were unable to extinguish the flames before embers hit the table cloth. Needless to say, the table light was out of commission.
No one was near the light when the fire started and no one was hurt in the incident.
Tournament officials are working hard to put together a temporary lighting solution in order to get matches underway on time today.
