The grand opening ceremony is behind us, attended by officials from all over the world.
The sports competition was preceded by the opening ceremony, attended by representatives of billiard sports from around the world, including the president of WCBS, Farouk El Barki.
Kielce was represented by the vice-president of Kielce, Łukasz Syska. – “Of course, I wish all the athletes present here good luck at the pool tables, but also positive impressions in our city” – he said during the ceremony held at the Grand Hotel. In turn, the organizer of the event, Marcin Krzemiński, thanked all partners and sponsors for the initiative to support billiard sports in Poland and around the world.
The event was honored with artistic performances by the saxophonist of the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, Andrzej Gumiela, and vocalists – Daria Kierońska and Zuzanna Ziental. The values of Polish folklore were emphasized by a kujawiak show performed by the soloist of the Kielce Song and Dance Ensemble – Katarzyna Ziętal.
The participants include: a team from North America and South America, a team from Africa and Oceania, and two teams from Europe and Asia.
Let us remind you that the competitors are fighting not only for medals, but also for financial prizes. The prize pool is over 140.000 USD.
