Top players from the Gulf Coast gathered to compete for the $1400 prize fund. Just to name a few, Wade Crane, Pablo Matheu, Denny Fox, Brian Spriggs, Ocho, Skeeter and others fought for the $620 top prize. As usual, The Bama Barn had FREE delicious food and the equipment was in fine condition since the 7' tables were freshly recovered.
The Tarantula went undefeated through the winner's side, beating local favorites Denny Fox, Wade Crane and Brian Spriggs. Spriggs was in rare form, defeating his opponents easily. The double elimination format was a race to seven, but the finals were a single race to nine. Wade Crane lost his second match and swept through the loser's side until he met Spriggs. Spriggs defeated Crane and setup a rematch with Matheu. Spriggs was determined not to lose to Matheu twice in the same day and so he got on the hill, 8-7. However, he scratched on his last break and never shot again as Matheu ran the last 2 tables for the win.
Payouts:
1st $620 Pablo "The Tarantula" Matheu
2nd $380 Brian Spriggs
3rd $240 Wade Crane
4th $120 Jim "Ocho" Sobeck
