Thirty-five players met for the Fury Midwest tour's 5th event held at The Rack in Livonia, Michigan to vie for first place amidst an April snowstorm. Two players rose to the top and it came down to a double showdown.
Near the end of the day, Steve Lomako and Luke Jacko remained undefeated on the winner's side while Danny Smith was making a run of the B side after a 2nd round loss. Lomako and Jacko met in the hot seat to play for a spot in the finals and it was a one-sided match as Lomako won 7-2, sending Jacko to the B side to face Smith.
Smith was just finishing his fifth match win, a hill-hill defeat of last stop's winner, Mark DeYoung. The semifinals went game for game with Smith and Lomako ending up at hill-hill before Lomako took the final game to advance to the finals.
The finals were a head-to-head race with Jacko leading 5-4 over Lomako. The turning point occurred when Lomako missed the 9-ball and the chance to tie the score up. With Jacko up 6-4, Lomako got in gear and took the next five games in a row to take the tournament win at 9-6.
