Jeremy Sossei came back from a defeat in the hot seat match to win both sets of the true double elimination final on the East Coast Pool Tour stop on Sunday, March 28. The event drew 19 entrants to World Championship Billiards in Manchester, CT.
Sossei got into the hot seat match after defeating room owner Jeff Mack among the winners' side final four. Phil Davis, in the meantime, was busy sending Mack's son, Steve west 8-5. Davis gained the hot seat with a 10-8 victory over Sossei and waited for his return.
Father and son moved to the one-loss side where they faced and defeated Bob Mendendgeon and Sam Paulos, respectively. Mendengeon had defeated Pete Brown and Will Aley to pick up Jeff. Paulos drew son, Steve, after victories over Kevin Guimond and TD Brent Boemmels. In the father-son quarterfinal, it was the father, Jeff, advancing to the semifinals with an 8-6 win over his son.
Sossei ended the elder Mack's day with a 10-5 win in the semifinals, and turned for his second chance at Davis. Needing to win two to take home the top prize, Sossei did just that, finishing Davis' bid with back to back 10-8 victories.
