Sossei goes undefeated at Yale Billiards Joss Tour Stop

Jeremy Sossei returned to the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour and showed that his game hasn’t declined a bit as he went undefeated at Yale Billiards on September 21st – 22nd.

Sossei, who has missed a few Joss Tour stops as he chased World Nineball Tour points, didn’t have an easy time of it on Saturday. Things started off smooth with wins over Jacquline Loving, Charlie McMahon and Bob Madenjian, but Sossei was taken to hill-hill by tour regular Suad Kantarevic before Sossei was able to finish him off to remain undefeated for the day.

Other players who went undefeated on Saturday were Alex Bausch, Yesid Geribello and multiple tour stop winner Christoph Neumayer.

Sunday play saw Sossei get the better of Neumayer 9-7 and Garibello with a 9-6 win over Bausch. Sossei would then defeat Garibello 9-3 to take the hot-seat.

Neumayer was on a roll over on the one loss side, with wins over Madenjian (7-0) and Bausch (7-6). He would add Garibello to his list of victims with a 7-3 win to send Neumayer to the finals against Sossei.

The double elimination finals would mean that Neumayer would have to beat Sossei twice, but Sossei did away with any chance of that happening, as he took the first set of the finals 9-4 for what we roughly estimate to be Sossei’s millionth career Joss Tour stop win.

Sunday’s second chance tournament saw Dan Sharlow bounce back from an opening round loss to Lee Mangos, and win eight straight matches for the tournament win. Rick Bentley defeated Troy Fortin 3-1 for the hot-seat, but Sharlow double dipped Bentley 3-2 and 3-1 for the win.
