Day one of qualifiers is complete at the De Er Le Cup Chinese 8-Ball World Championship, and six players have qualified for the main event.
The event, being held in Shangrao City China, has drawn well over 100 international players hoping to earn one of the fourteen spots available to play in the main event and take home their share of over $450,000 in prize money.
The qualifying stage sees players competing in a single elimination bracket, having to win four matches to make it through and qualify for the main event.
Day one saw a trio of British cueists make the cut as Chris Melling, Karl Boyes and Daryl Peach all won spots in the main event. These three were joined by Iran's Mohammadali Pordel.
In the ladies division, Allison Fisher and Russia's Anastasia Nechaeva both earned their spots in the main event.
The remaining players who have not qualified are now redrawn into another single elimination board and will compete for the coveted spots in the main event on day two of qualifiers.
