Tom 'Shorty' D'Alfonso defeated Santos Sambajon for the hot-seat and then held off Sambajon in the finals to win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event at Ultimate Billiards Club in Berlin, CT.
D'Alfonso made his way through the 55 player field to take the hot-seat with a 9-6 win over Santos Sambajon.
Sambajon then defeated Ultimate Billiards Club owner Pete Genovese 9-3 in the semi-finals to earn another shot at D'Alfonso in the true double elimination finals.
The first set went to hill-hill before Sambajon won it with a 9-ball break. D'Alfonso stepped up in the second set and made sure that Sambajon didn't get the chance to repeat his win in the second set of the finals. D'Alfonso won 9-6.
D'Alfonso pocketed $2500 for the win, while Sambajon settled for $1700. Genovese and Frankie Hernandez filled out the top four spots.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Adirondack Billiards in Glen Falls, NY next week for a $2000 added event.
