The Shoreline Billiards Snooker Tournament, Event 6 on the 2011 United States Snooker Association (USSA) Tour, sponsored by Aramith Billiard Balls and Strachan West Of England snooker cloth, was won by Ajeya Prabhakar who claimed victory at Shoreline Billiards in Mountain View, California.
It is the former United States National Snooker Champion's second victory on the USSA Tour this year, after he claimed success at Tour Event 2 back in March.
That previous final at the Ace Snooker Club in San Mateo, California, was repeated at this Tour event too as Prabhakar again faced the former professional pool player, Tony Annigoni, who he had already faced during the group stage of the tournament.
The players battling it out for this Tour event title were divided into two groups with the top two players from each group advancing into the semifinals.
Prabhakar and Annigoni came through Group A in first and second places respectively, and in Group B, Eric Ng emerged at the top with Fan Ru Zeng gaining that all important runner-up position.
In the first semifinal, Prabhakar faced Fan and a break of 47 assisted the current serving President of the USSA to a comfortable 3-0 win, while in the second semifinal Annigoni defeated Ng 3-1.
Prabhakar banked the $200 first prize after dealing out a 3-0 win over Annigoni in the final.
The USSA would like to give its thanks to all the participants of this Tour event, and also to Jerry Leo, the proprietor of Shorelines Billiards, for his continued support in hosting a USSA Tour event.
