Sharp and Rhee win Falcon Cue event

Doug Sharp

The Falcon Cue 9-Ball Tour was at Fast Eddie's Billiard Café in Alexandria, VA with a field of 68 players in the open division this weekend.

BCA Instructor Doug Sharp lost his first match of the tournament to Pat Carosi, but was perfect after that match to make his way to the finals.

The hot-seat was won by John Tolson with a comeback win over Rob Perry. Perry led the match 8-5, but lost 9-8 to Tolson.

After winning the hot-seat, Tolson looked like the favorite since he would have to be beaten twice in the finals. Sharp would continue his run though, as he scored 9-6 and 9-5 wins over Tolson in the finals.

Sharp won $1100 for first, while Tolson settled for $700 in second place prize money. Perry and Jim 'Shorty' Henson filled out the top four spots. It was Sharp's first Falcon Tour win, and Tolson's best finish so far on the tour.

The ladies division of 21 players was dominated by Sueyen Rhee who won her 5th straight stop this season. Rhee went undefeated and never allowed an opponent to score more than 4 games against her. Rhee beat Jennifer Dunkin 7-0 in the finals.

Rhee pocketed $335 for first, and Dunkin took home $225 for second. Michelle Choe and Gwen Dickert filled out the top four spots.

The Falcon Cue 9-Ball Tour will be at Great Slates in Cambridge, MD next weekend for their next event. Full results from this stop, as well as all the other stop can be found on the official site for the Falcon Cue 9-ball Tour at www.falconcuetour.com.
