In a day of jam-packed full of nail-biting hill-hill deciding rack matches, the final of this event could go no other other way. And so it was when local Belgian favourite Serge Das, admittedly the underdog, met the Netherlands TV pool celebrity Niels Feijen in the ultimate match of this three day long tournament. Three days that climaxed with a fairy-tale ending for the industrious local here, winning the final rack in front of his home crown in a club where he is a very familiar figure.
The best of the best competed in this fierce battle over money and the prestigious title. Europe's best and the World's most feared players battled, but also local heroes from Benelux, Germany, Italy and Finland have their shot at the title and the big money. The 3 days of matches started with the field is being whittled down to the Last 32 players who then played Double Elimination until the Single Knock-Out format Quarter-Finals onwards.
