How quickly a year passes, as the Southern Classic Tournament is upon us once more. The Southern Classic in its second year at Harrah’s Casino and Hotel in Tunica, MS, and features three disciplines, Banks, One Pocket and Nine Ball.
In conjunction with the Southern Classic, there is also an additional event called the DIAMOND Bigfoot 10 Ball Challenge, played on magnificent DIAMOND 10 foot tables. This event sees sixteen of the top players coughing up a hefty $1,000 entry fee each, plus $16,000 in added money, fighting it out in a single elimination format 10 Ball, race to 11.
The Bigfoot matches will take place over five days starting on Friday June 21st through Tuesday June 25th. There are two 10 foot tables in the arena, and play will be at 5 pm and 9 pm for the first four days, until the last two players standing play on Tuesday evening to see who is the winner of this interesting event. First place wins $16,000 - Second place $8,000 - Third & Fourth place $4,000.
The Banks event is well under way in its four day shoot out, and the One pocket starts on Sunday and finishes on Thursday. The 9 Ball starts on Wednesday and finishes on Saturday evening, with the final at 9 pm followed by the awards ceremony.
Once again it is great to see this multi formatted event moving into its second year at the HARRAH’S CASINO & HOTEL.
