Liz Schwartzreich
Twenty six players showed up at Castle Billiards in East Rutherford, New Jersey for the Northeast Women's Tours NJ State 8-Ball Championship and it was Liz Schwartzreich going undefeated including a win in the finals against Dawn Hopkins for the tournament win.
Schwartzreich met up with Hopkins on the winners side early in the tourney and Hopkins held a 4-2 lead in the early race to 5. That lead would not hold as Schwartzreich came back to win 3 games in a row to send Hopkins to the one loss side. Hopkins got another chance at Schwartzreich in the extended, race to 7 finals but came up short again as Schwartzreich won the match 7-5.
Schwartzreich collected $510 for the win while Hopkins took $315 for second. Jennifer Barretta and NEWT Tour #2 ranked Romana Dokovic filled the top 4 spots.
