The 2007 Flood City 9-Ball Open took place the weekend of November 10-11, 2007, at Mully's Billiards in Johnstown, Pennsylvania owned by Dan and Terri Mulhollen and son Danny Mulhollen. The field included a total of thirty-seven players including regional top guns, Ryan McCreesh, Marty Lawson, Danny Mulhollen, Bill McCollin, cue maker Paul Mottey, and Richard Barney.
Marty Lawson ended up on top on Sunday as he made his way undefeated through the winner's side of the bracket. On the one-loss side, Ryan McCreesh was making waves as he was also on a mission to set foot in the finals. When McCreesh made it to the semi-final round, he ran into Danny Mulhollen. Given Danny was the home room favorite, the match-up was sure to be a hard fought set, but in the end it was McCreesh that pushed his way through and sealed his spot in the finals by besting Mulhollen 9-6.
With Lawson being the hot seat winner, McCreesh had to take down Lawson twice as this was a true double elimination event. The first set went to the hill for both men, but McCreesh forced another set by winning 9-8. Although the second set was fairly close throughout, McCreesh pulled out the winning touches to take home the $1000 guaranteed first place distinction.
