The Viking Cue Amateur 9-Ball Tour was at Cornfed Red's in Columbus, OH this weekend with a field of 56 players competing for the $500 in added prize money.
Ryan Stone was rolling over opponents and took the hot-seat with a 5-1 win over Shane Albough. Albough wasn't able to win a game before Stone held a 4-0 lead and Stone finished off the set in the next game.
Albough looked like a different player in the next match as he eliminated Travis Martin 5-0 on the one-loss side to earn the rematch with Stone in the double elimination finals.
Albough stayed in stroke and Stone looked like the wait had cooled his game off as Albough cruised to a 5-1 win in the first set of the finals. The second set was much more competitive with the players trading games until the 3-3 mark when Stone won the last two games for a 5-3 win.
Stone pocketed $450 for first place, while Albough settled for $300. Martin and Steve Drumm filled out the top four spots.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be holding an open event at Cornfed Red's in Columbus next week, while the Amateur Tour will be at Mr Pockets Pool And Pub in Pittsburgh, PA next Sunday for another $500 added event.
