Aug 27-28th, 2011- Mr. Cues II in Atlanta, GA hosted The Maximbilliards.com Amateur Billiard Tour. The weekend offered $1500 Guaranteed Added Prize Funds 9-Ball Event and 8-Ball Event. The events had 60 entrants into Tournaments. Maximbilliards.com Amateur Billiard 9-Ball Event paid out $2790 in prize fund to the top 12 players.
Josh Roberts from S. Carolina would claim the first place prize monies after going undefeated into the finals where he would have to fight his way back to take home the win. Roberts began his bid for first by drawing a bye in round one and proceeding to defeat the following: Jeff Hook 9-3; Horace "Groundhog" Godwin 9-4; JR Rossman 9-2; Evan Lunda 9-1; Tim Heath 9-8; Roberts lost set 1 of the true double elimination format to Evan Lunda 9-4; but made a comeback in set 3 defeating Lunda 9-2 to claim the win.
Duane Davis claimed the first place prize in The Maximbilliards.com Amateur Tour's 8-Ball event on Sunday. Davis made his way to the finals by defeating Pat Campbell, Lisa Davids, Horace Godwin, Eddie Adams and once in the finals Davis won the first set to take the win against Horace Godwin.
