The Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour rolled through Raleigh, NC, March 24th as the ninth stop on the tour was held at Play 2 Win Billiards. As the pool room owner, Robert Ray rolled out the red carpet, but as a player he pocketed the green, defeating Sam Monday in the final match (9-7).
Monday went undefeated and took the hotseat by defeating Jeff Pruitt (7-3), Jim Faircloth (7-5), and Ray (7-4). Ray, meanwhile, had wins over Dale Lloyd (7-0) and Mike Kearns (7-5) before his loss to Monday (7-4). However, with a win over Faircloth (7-4) he was facing Monday once again.
The rematch brought out the competitive spirit in both players. With Monday close on his heels, Ray stayed cool under pressure down the stretch, narrowly defeating Monday (9-7).
The next stop on the Jacoby Custom Cues Carolina Tour will be April 14th at Fast Eddie's in Goldsboro, NC.
