The Jacoby Cues Great Lakes Tour held its second stop of the season at Golden Eight Ball in Columbus, Ohio October 16-17. Twenty-nine players competed for the $1415 prize fund and a chance to win the WPBA qualifier, which was generously provided by Richard Whaley, owner of the poolroom.
Alice Rim, WPBA Touring Pro from Detroit, Michigan, went undefeated throughout the event with wins over Shannon Condit 7-2, Rachael "Road Warrior" Abbink 7-4, CJ Jerome 7-3, Angela Mears 7-3, and Ida Fuller 7-3 in the hot seat match.
Meanwhile, Fuller, from Delaware, Ohio, reached the winners bracket finals with wins over Eileen Reinhart 7-2, Ava Overman 7-4, Gail Grecar 7-6, and Chandra Claypool 7-1.
After Fuller's loss to Rim on the "A" side, she faced CJ Jerome to battle out who would win the qualifying spot. They both fought hard, with Fuller eventually capturing the victory by a score of 7-5.
The finals started out with Fuller and Rim exchanging games until the score was tied at 5-5. Rim then pulled ahead, winning four straight games to take first place.
