RESCHEDULED – Big Daddy’s Billiards in Maryland Schedules Qualifier for World 14.1 Straight Pool Championship

We reported on March 25, 2008 that the Maryland qualifier for the World 14.1 Straight Pool Championships were scheduled for May 10-11, 2008, with an early entry deadline of April 20th (as seen below). Please note that the dates for the qualifier have been re-scheduled and are now set for July 12-13, 2008, with a early entry deadline of June 20th – any entries received after this date will need to be made in the amount of $150. All other information remains the same.

The World 14.1 Straight Pool Championships are coming up quicker than one might imagine with August 2008 being the planned month of play at the New Jersey Hilton in East Brunswick. To get the ball rolling, a qualifier has been scheduled in Maryland and is presented by Richard and Cynthia Molineiro, owners of Big Daddy's Billiards, located at 7954 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd, #2-G, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. The first and second place finishers from the event will win automatic paid $500 entry into the main event in August.

The player's meeting, bracket draw, and practice beginning at 9 am Saturday morning (tournament dress code in effect). Although the format for this year's qualifier has not yet been determined as it will be based upon the number of players in attendance, the typical format in past events has included an eight bracket round robin on Saturday with five players each playing four matches to 100 points – the top players advance to a sixteen player bracket to be played on Sunday which will ultimately dwindle down and produce the final two for the championships in New Jersey.
