Rod Rentz played two hill-hill showdowns with Tour Director Tommy Kennedy and won when it mattered to win the SE Open 9-Ball Tour event at Stix & Stonz Billiards and Grill in Douglas, GA.
Rentz went hill-hill with Kennedy for the hot-seat, before Kennedy pulled out the 9-8 victory. After Rentz eliminated Todd Drake on the one-loss side, he and Kennedy went hill=hill again in the extended, race to 13, final match. It looked like it would be Kennedy winning again as he was at the table running out in the finl rack, but a scratch on the 5-ball allowed Rentz back to the table and he ran out from there for the win.
Rentz collected $700 for the win, while Kennedy took home $400 for second. Drake and John Brown filled out the top four spots. Traci Majors took the $50 prize for top finishing female, and Dennis Strickland won the $50 top junior finisher prize.
The SE Open Tour will be at the Side Pocket Cue Club in Marietta, GA on July 12th - 13th.
