The 2005 Reno Open got underway on Tuesday at the Sands Regency in Reno, NV with a field of 192 players.
Top pros in the field include Danny Basavich, Santos Sambajon, Buddy Hall, Ernesto Dominguez, Marlon Manalo, Mike Davis, Jose Parica, Jeremy Jones, Luc Salvas, Tony Chohan, Gabe Owen, Shawn Putnam, John Horsfall and Ismael Paez.
With two days of matches complete, the usual suspects have advanced on the winners side with a couple exceptions. Ismael Paez has been eliminated, while Ernesto Dominguez, Ronnie Wiseman, Luc Salvas, Mike Davis and Gabe Owen are still alive on the one loss side.
Also in attendance are two WPBA touring pros, Melissa Herndon and Melissa Little. Little has yet to lose a match, while Herndon lost to Arizona's Ed Scott late Wednesday night.
Earlier this week, Jeff Haakinson won the USPPA Pro Am with a win over Duke Obaob in the finals. Austin Murphy and Gilbert Arrelano finished in 3rd and 4th. Haakinson won $3000 for first.
Complete brackets for the Reno Open are available and will be updated all week long.
