The 2006 BCA Jr Nationals got underway on Wednesday at the University of Arizona Student Union with a total of 94 hopeful Junior players looking to earn the coveted titles on the line.
The 18 & Under Boys Division sees last year's winner Justin Bergman back with his sights set on a repeat performance. Last year's 3rd place finisher Kevin Peterson is hoping to ride his home town advantage to a win over Bergman. They will face off against each other first thing Thursday morning.
The 14 & Under Boys Division sees another returning champion as International Pool Tour player Austin Murphy is back and so is last year's runner up Landon Shuffett. Shuffett dropped a match on Wednesday, but Murphy has dominated all of his matches so far in the event.
The 18 & Under Girls Division will feature Anna Kostanian looking for her second straight title in a field of five other players. Anna went undefeated on Wednesday and will face Mary Rakin for the hot seat on Thursday.
The 14 & Under Girls Division also has a returning champion as Chelsea Hardwick looks for another title win in her division. Hardwick will face Elizabeth Lovely on Thursday.
