The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour brought a field of 86 players from all over the country to Mr. Pockets Pool & Pub in Pittsburgh, PA where Shawn Putnam reasserted his dominance over the tour.
Putnam was an early favorite, as well as Troy Frank, Robb Saez, and defending Champion Sean Graham. Both Graham and Putnam remained undefeated until the match for the hot-seat, which was won by Putnam 7-5. Graham was then handed loss #2 by Tom Purich on the left side of the board.
This set up the finals between Putnam and Purich which saw Putnam grab control of the match and cruise to a 7-3 victory for his third tournament win of the season.
Putnam collected $1240 for first and Purich picked up $840 for second. Graham and Lyn Wechsler filled out the top four positions. Troy Frank finished in 13th place after losses to Brandon Shreve and Steve Lavey.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be at The Rhode Island Billiard Club in Providence, RI for their next event on March 8-9.
