The third week in March will find us once again visiting the Player's Championship in Vally Forge, PA at the Super Billiards Expo. Alan Hopkins is the founder and continues as the promoter of this long-running annual event and this year an elite field of 64 pros will play Ten Ball with race to nine sets.
Hopkins is adding $20,000 to this event and the entire production is brought about by sponsors such as Simonis Cloth, Diamond Billiard Products, Mueller Sporting Goods, Viking Cues and RunOut Sportswear.
The Players Championship is run in conjunction with the Super Billiards Expo and is always at the Valley Forge Convention Center beneath the Radison Hotel complex at the intersection of Gulph Road and 1st Ave. in Vally Forge. This is the largest retail billiard show in the country and offers visitors the opportunity to see cues from the finest cuemakers as well as tables, balls, billiard antiques and every other pool accessory you can imagine.
At the same time, the TAP league will be running their annual Rally in the Valley event that draws hundreds of players into the mix and Hopkins is still formulating more surprises for the week so stay alert for more news on the Expo as the time draws near.
