Qlympics, just like it sounds, is a series of competitive cue sports events offered over "three weeks of pool bliss" at the Clarion Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Qlympics is presented by playbca.com, the umbrella site that hosts the BCA Pool League (BCAPL), and many non-BCAPL events.
With full fields, the event, offering four U.S. Open Titles and five BCA Pool League championships, could generate up to $250,000 in cash prizes. Accu-Stats will be there to capture the action. Randy Goettlicher will bring the Cue-Tech Pool School, with instructional seminars for all levels of players. Limited booths are available for vendor participation.
Both amateurs and professionals will compete in the four U.S. Open tournaments – One Pocket, Bank Pool, Straight Pool, and 10-Ball – alongside the newly introduced BCA Pool League Big Table Championships, an 8-Ball extravaganza that offers singles, Scotch Doubles, Teams, Juniors, and Seniors Divisions, and is open to all BCA Pool League members.
As the BCA Pool League has many host locations with 9' tables, and many members who prefer to play on big tables, the league has responded to player and League Operator requests for an event on 9' Diamond Smart Tables with Pro cut 4-1/2” pockets, Simonis "Tour Blue" 860 cloth, and Super Aramith Pro ball sets with Red Circle cue balls.
On the weekend of November 17 & 18, BCAPL Regional 8-Ball Teams and Singles events will be held on Diamond 7' Smart Tables. Those 7 footers will also come in handy for practice and 24/7 action.
Just like the Olympics, Qlympic competitors will compete for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze and hold the distinguished title of U.S. Open Champion in each of the disciplines--One-Pocket, Bank Pool, 14.1 Straight Pool, and 10-Ball.
This will be a “player friendly” venue, with a 24/7 action room and late night food and drink. And, like all playbca.com events there will be plenty of warm-up and nightly mini tournaments too.
Stay where you play -- Qlympics is hosted and co-sponsored by the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center, and the added money for Qlympics depends entirely on players staying at the host hotel. So, if you want to participate in the added money at this event, you will definitely need to make your reservations at the Clarion Hotel at (502) 491-4830 (the reservations code is “Qlympics”) and have a room there for the duration of your event. Sorry, reservations made through 3rd party web sites, etc. will not entitle you to share in the added money.
