The Philippine Open will kick off on April 7th with a total prize fund exceeding $175,000 between the men's and women's divisions. This event, to be held at the SM Megamall in Manila, will feature reigning World 9-Ball Champion Francisco Bustamante and reigning World 8-Ball Champion Dennis Orcullo as well as the current World Ten Ball Champion Mika Immonen. The women will have two current World Champs in their arena as well. Jasmin Ouschan, reigning World 10-Ball champion and current World 9-Ball champion Xiao-Fang Fu will be in attendance and intent on adding to their resumes.
These are not the only honoraries of the game that will be competing, however. Add to these lists the names of Ralf Souquet, Darren Appleton, Shane Van Boening, Ga Young Kim, Allison Fisher, Karen Corr and Kelly Fisher and you begin to get an idea of the class of play that will be on display during the event.
