Phone calls have been flooding the office of On The Wire in regards to the Pechauer Tour Finale scheduled at Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento, Ca October 22nd-23rd.
With the BCA National 9-ball Championships commencing just two days after the $5000 added tour finale, many out-of-towners have added the Hard Times stop to their agendas. The finale is an open tournament, and accepts new tour members even at the final stop.
The Pechauer Tour did not want to discourage anyone, at any skill level from competing in the tour, which is why the membership has stayed at the same $15 seasonal price. As always, the Pechauer Tour strives to raise the semi-professional level of the sport of pool, believing that in order to be the best, one has to compete against and beat the best. With the possibility of some of the nations best competitors, as well as a rumor that Kim Davenport may be participating in the Hard Times stop this will undoubtedly be one of the most fun stops of the year!
Hard Times will be open 24 hours the weekend of the tournament and a player's auction is scheduled to take place just prior to the start of the event. Carpools are being organized from both North and South of Sacramento along I-5. There are currently a dozen or so scheduled from the North. Both cars traveling on to the Vegas 9-ball Championships, as well as cars returning home are being organized. If you are interested in getting a ride from your town to Hard Times on Friday October 21st, to return the following Monday; or if you are going and will have some extra room in your vehicle, please contact On The Wire by phone at 503-674-8300 - we especially need to know about cars with room who are traveling on to Vegas; some of the out-of-town pros will need to hitch a ride in time for the one pocket event that starts on Tuesday.
