The teams have voted and named their captains for the second annual Patriot Cup competition.
The Fury team from the North has chosen former World Champion Allen Hopkins as their captain. Hopkins has won titles in 9-ball, 10-ball, One-Pocket, and Straight Pool in his career. Hopkins won the US Open 9-ball title in 1982 and 1986 and has over six world titles to his credit.
Hopkins will lead his team consisting of himself, Mika Immonen, Tony Robles, Corey Deuel and Rodney Morris against the Lucasi Team from the south.
The Lucasi team has chosen former World Champion and BCA Hall of Fame member Nick Varner as their captain. Varner has won World Titles in 9-ball, One-Pocket and Straight Pool and won the US Open 9-ball Championship back to back in 1989 and 1990.
Varner's team from the south will consist of himself, as well as Buddy Hall, Johnny Archer, Charlie Williams and Tommy Kennedy.
The 2nd Annual Patriot Cup will take place on June 13-15 at Planet 9-Ball in Tampa Florida. The competition will include 9-Ball, 8-Ball, Back Pool, Straight Pool, One-Pocket and a break contest in both singles and scotch doubles format.
